I began playing the violin at age 6 and music has been a integral part of my life ever since! Today, I’m an avid performer, educator, and chamber musician. As a teacher I strive to give my students and their families the tools needed for a successful and enjoyable experience with violin. I incorporate listening, repetition, games, step-by-step skill development, and home practice training into every lesson while working to build communication and social skills, attention span, and compassion with each student. I hold Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music in addition to being a Suzuki-trained violin teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching in music schools throughout Arkansas, Colorado, and Southern California. I deeply enjoy exploring diverse musical genres and I tailor private lessons to each student’s individual goals and needs.

We were very lucky to meet Madeleine when my daughter was in 2nd grade and just started learning the violin.  Madeleine is patient, encouraging, and so enthusiastic about what she does. Honestly, I was not sure if my daughter would continue playing year after year, but she did. I thank Madeleine for this. When COVID hit, Madeleine quickly switched gears and did my daughter’s lessons on ZOOM. These lessons were so effective and really showcased Madeleine’s impeccable ability as a teacher. In addition to her teaching, Madeleine is such a skilled and accomplished musician. When she would play a song with my daughter, I would get tears in my eyes because that was how beautiful it was.

Madeleine always made learning fun, mixing note reading with songs from the Suzuki books, as well as mainstream music. Madeleine always focused on the positive and gave my daughter confidence that she will succeed. My daughter is now playing in 6th grade in an intermediate concert orchestra class, and I can confidently say it was Madeleine who gave her the ability to achieve this. Madeleine will always be a mentor to my daughter and having Madeleine as my daughter’s violin teacher was one of the best decisions that I ever made.

Learning the violin has been a life-long goal and one that I put off for close to 40 years. Madeleine asked very poignant & important questions as to my reasons why I wanted to learn the violin. That spoke volumes, letting me know she cares. That kind of caring is an essential characteristic in an instructor. As well, she teaches in the Suzuki tradition, which as a non-traditional student who hasn’t read music for decades, is a great way to learn. Her instruction has been a perfect combination of support, challenge, and encouragement! I highly, highly recommend her!

Madeleine is such a kind and encouraging teacher! She is very patient and insightful and takes the time to ensure that her students learn and perform to the best of their abilities. She is always supportive and I’ve loved having her as my teacher!

Madeleine is super sweet, positive, and encouraging. She is also extremely patient. She instructs and guides you well and allows you to learn in a positive environment. I loved having her as a teacher and would recommend her to students of any age.

Madeleine played for our wedding and was absolutely phenomenal to work with every step of the way. She was highly recommended to us by a friend who had also booked her for an anniversary party. For us, she arranged a string quartet including herself, another violinist, a cellist, and a violist. They learned several songs at our request and recommended several other pieces to fill out the performance. Their playing was beautiful and every single member of the group was professional and timely. I’ve been recommending Madeleine to all of my friends planning weddings and big events. We couldn’t have been happier with our experience!
